NYE charters book quickly — often by September for December 31st. Here’s the process:

Common NYE Booking Questions

How early should I book my NYE charter?

Book by September if you can. NYE is Tiger’s busiest night, and the popular vessels (Tiger 3, Tiger 4) often book out by October. December bookings are possible but you might lose preferred time slots or have to go with Tigeress. Early bookings = more flexibility.

What if the weather is bad on NYE?

Sydney rarely has truly terrible weather on NYE (it’s summer), but rough seas are possible. Tiger’s catamarans are stable in most conditions. If weather is severe, Tiger will notify you 48 hours prior and offer to reschedule to December 30th or January 1st, or provide a full refund. The boat won’t leave the harbour unless it’s safe.

Can we bring our own DJ?

Yes. The boat has a professional sound system and DJ-ready setup. Your DJ can plug in and run the music. Many groups do this. Alternatively, Tiger can recommend DJs who’ve worked NYE charters before, or you can run a curated Spotify playlist through the boat’s speaker system.

Can we decorate the boat?

Yes, within reason. Bunting, balloons, and string lights are fine. No confetti or anything that damages the boat or leaves residue. Keep decorations minimal — the Sydney Harbour views are the real decoration.

What’s the BYO alcohol policy?

Will we actually see both fireworks displays?

Yes. Sydney has two main displays: 9pm (family-friendly) and midnight (main). Tiger’s boat positions itself so you can see both directly. You’ll be front-row for both. The midnight display is the big one — 12+ minutes of fireworks across the entire harbour.

Can we stay out past 1am?

Catamarans are very stable due to their twin-hull design. Most people don’t get seasick on a cat, especially in Sydney Harbour where conditions are sheltered.
